1 Peter 5: 8

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Ephesians 6: 10-18

The Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Psalm 37: 37

Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.

Matthew 5: 9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Psalm 34: 14

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Colossians 3: 15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Exodus 14: 14

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Living for God Is All That Matters

It takes boldness to follow God instead of the crowd. Being excessively concerned about what others think leads only to torment. Although all of us enjoy being well thought of, it is not possible to be liked by everyone all the time.

In God's economy, we usually have to be willing to lose something we have in order to gain what we really want in life, and that means we have to stop comparing ourselves to other people's standards and start living for God.

People who are real friends will help you be all God wants you to be. They won't judge you for following God's call. Real friends will encourage you to make God number one in your life.

Even if everyone else walks away from you, He promises to never leave you or forsake you.

Life gets too complicated, confusing and frustrating when we try to please both God and people. You don't have to compare yourself to anyone and worry what people think about you. Live life for God and be free to be who He made you to be.

2 Corinthians 10:12 ~ We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.

Getting Rid of Unrealistic Expectations

Unrealistic expectations can quickly steal our peace and joy. We usually visualize a perfect day, with perfect people, and ourselves being perfectly happy in our perfect little world, but we all know that isn't reality. In reality, only God is perfect and the rest of us are under construction.

The devil knows what steals our peace and he sets us up to get upset when our unrealistic expectations fall apart.

After years of letting the devil steal my peace, I finally got it: Life is not perfect, and things are going to happen that we did not plan for and would rather not go through. My new attitude has become, "Oh well, that's life!" I have discovered that if I don't let those things impress me, then they can't depress me.

Everyone has to deal with inconveniences, but we can deal with them and avoid a bad attitude. Remember today that only God is perfect and trust in Him. He can always lead you past disappointing circumstances, strengthening you and helping you to hold on to your peace.

Mark 10:18 ~ "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good~except God alone."

Give Him Your Ashes

When we let God take our messes and turn them into miracles, the Father has the ability to use our mistakes for our good if we will only trust Him.

Isaiah 61:3 says He will give us "beauty instead of ashes," but I find that many people want to hold on to their ashes, the cinders of the past, as reminders of their shortcomings and failures. I encourage you to let go of your ashes and reach for something new.

Too many people live in the past, feeling like they'll never have another chance. Do you need a second chance? Ask God for a second chance or a third, fourth or fifth, whatever you need. God is full of mercy and long-suffering. His loving kindness never fails or comes to an end. The Bible says that He has removed your transgressions from you, so you don't have to hang on to them anymore.

Jesus came to lift burdens, but you must be willing to let them go and believe He is greater than your mistakes. Give Him your ashes today.

Isaiah 61:3 ~ and provide for those who grieve in Zion~to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Psalm 103:12 ~ as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Truth Will Always Bring Controversy

To tell the truth, telling the truth will always bring controversy--that's just what truth does! It exposes lies and brings on opposition from the father of all lies, Satan. When he, the father of all lies is exposed, he tries to keep the light of truth from being seen by one and all. He operates in darkness and cover up. God is light, Jesus is the Truth, and when we tell the Truth, we start a war for sure! Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Life, no one comes to the Father accept through Him. This truth about the Truth will always bring controversy! ~ Samuel Brassfield

Victory IN the Furnace

Glorify ye the LORD in the fires. (Isaiah 24:15 KJV)

Notice the little word "IN"! We are to honor the Lord IN the trial - IN the very thing that afflicts us. And although there are examples were God did not allow His saints to even feel the fire, usually the fire causes pain.

It is precisely there, IN the heat of the fire, we are to glorify Him. We do this by exercising perfect faith IN His goodness and love that has permitted this trial to come upon us. Even more, we are to believe that out of the fire will arise something more worthy of praise to Him than had we never experienced it.

To go through some fires will take great faith, for little faith will fail. We must win the victory IN the furnace. ~Margaret Bottome

There Is No Partiality With God

What does the bible say?
Let's look it up, shall we?

Romans 2:11
For God does not show favoritism.

Romans 3:22
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22-24)

Romans 10:12
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile~the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:12-13)
