This morning I finished up Saturday’s reading and today I am planning to go through the comments that were left this past week to see what everyone had to say as well as what I may have missed.
I have read through the New Testament before but this time around I am picking up things I didn’t notice. It’s amazing what you can see with your eyes when you go back and read. I’ve been using a highlighter to track some things I’ve honed in on so be sure and check the comments from last week’s post.

All you do is follow the reading plan. I am planning to post the reading plan each day and then you are free to chime in through the comment section on each post.

I'd love to watch this. I grew up watching Billy Graham. I can still hear the music playing as people made their way to the front after accepting Christ as their savior. When I look back on my life it's neat to see how I wound up an Evangelical Christian.

Satan doesn't show up in your living room and announce “Good evening, I am Satan and I have a horrible plan for your life!” No one would buy that. Instead he deceives, he disguises himself as something appealing, something appropriate, as an angel of light.
His servants do the same, even disguising themselves as servants of righteousness. He had seduced kings, prophets, and Jewish exorcists. He has sought the downfall of righteous men such as Job by turning nature and the wisdom of men against him. Satan roams the earth, seeking to devour all he can.
His wrath builds as his time grows shorter because he is aware that soon the King of kings will come and make all His enemies His footstool! Although that time is probably closer than we realize it is not quite here yet.
Satan continues to be Satan – the adversary of every child of God. Therefore you must learn all you can from the Word of God about him.

Christ didn’t say anything about those who believe and are not baptized.
What about the thief on the cross? Christ said to the thief, “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” The thief could not be baptized before he died on the cross, but he was certainly saved that day.
Our justification from sins takes place at the point of saving faith, not at the point of water baptism, which usually occurs later.
Baptism is not necessary for salvation. But it is necessary if we are to be obedient to Christ, for he commanded baptism for all who believe in him.

Therefore, since we have been justified through FAITH, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by FAITH into this GRACE in which we now stand. Romans 5:1
Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who BELIEVES. Romans 10:4
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of FAITH we are proclaiming: That if you CONFESS with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. For it is with your heart that you BELIEVE and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you CONFESS and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who TRUSTS in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses ALL WHO CALL ON HIM, for, “EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” Romans 10:8-13

So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and GRACE. This GRACE was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Timothy 1:8-10
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his MERCY. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us GENEROUSLY through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his GRACE, we might become heirs having the HOPE of eternal life. Titus 3:5-7
If there are any Salvation verses I have missed feel free to let me know what they are. Remember, there is nothing we can do to earn it or lose it.
That’s hard to wrap your brain around, because humans have deal breakers. In our relationships there are things that happen, that end them.
But, that’s not the way God sees his relationship with you. There are no deal breakers.
That is the radical thing about Jesus. The bible calls him our Redeemer. A redeemer is one who compensates for all our faults, for our poor past performances, and bad behaviors.
It’s hard to understand why anyone would reject a loving relationship with no deal breakers.
There’s nothing you can do to earn it, or lose it.
The truth of this really spoke to me as I was driving that morning.
Please don’t allow the naysayers to keep you from knowing Christ. He loves us and He desires to have a relationship with us. God’s plan of Salvation is His gift to us.

Even true believers can be legalistic. We are instructed, rather, to be gracious to one another: “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters” (Romans 14:1). Sadly, there are those who feel so strongly about non-essential doctrines that they will run others out of their fellowship, not even allowing the expression of another viewpoint. That, too, is legalism. Many legalistic believers today make the error of demanding unqualified adherence to their own biblical interpretations and even to their own traditions. For example, there are those who feel that to be spiritual one must simply avoid tobacco, alcoholic beverages, dancing, movies, etc. The truth is that avoiding these things is no guarantee of spirituality.

When there is an assembly of people who take the name Christian but consistently teach that people cannot believe their Bibles—indeed, a church whose pastor and congregation seldom read their Bibles or pray in any meaningful way, and do not believe or perhaps even understand the gospel of salvation by faith in Christ alone, then how can we say that this is a true church?
