Today's Reading: Mark Chapters 1-3

We are a quarter of the way through the gospels. I’m excited to begin the book of Mark. Truth be told, I don’t always complete the readings on time but am determined to get through this Advent Reading Season.

This morning I finished up Saturday’s reading and today I am planning to go through the comments that were left this past week to see what everyone had to say as well as what I may have missed.

I have read through the New Testament before but this time around I am picking up things I didn’t notice. It’s amazing what you can see with your eyes when you go back and read. I’ve been using a highlighter to track some things I’ve honed in on so be sure and check the comments from last week’s post.

Today's Reading: Mathew Chapters 11-16

The parable of the weeds made me think of this fun sun catcher project I found on Pinterest.

“Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.” Matthew 13:43

What themes from today caught your attention?

Put the "Christ" Back In Christians

Theological debates gone wrong, legalism/man-made rules within churches all over the world, misunderstood bible doctrine turned upside down are a few things that really irk me. Christianity is not about religion. It’s about a relationship.

Advent Readings for December 2013

Here is a reading plan I am doing that will get me through all four gospels for Christmas. The reading plan begins today. Does anyone want to participate with me? All you do is follow the reading plan. I am planning to post the reading plan each day and then you are free to chime in through the comment section on each post.

Maybe something will stand out in the readings that you never noticed before. Or maybe you have never read through the first four books of the New Testament. Or maybe you just want to connect with others who are reading the same thing you are. I really want to hear from you.

If you have a blog and you want to respond from your blog—go for it! It’s gonna be a busy time but I think we can do it!

The Works God Requires

#GRACE

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”   Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

My Whole Being Waits

I wait for the LORD , my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
