Today's Reading: Mark Chapters 1-3

We are a quarter of the way through the gospels. I’m excited to begin the book of Mark. Truth be told, I don’t always complete the readings on time but am determined to get through this Advent Reading Season.

This morning I finished up Saturday’s reading and today I am planning to go through the comments that were left this past week to see what everyone had to say as well as what I may have missed.

I have read through the New Testament before but this time around I am picking up things I didn’t notice. It’s amazing what you can see with your eyes when you go back and read. I’ve been using a highlighter to track some things I’ve honed in on so be sure and check the comments from last week’s post.

  1. Mark 1:41 - in almost every Bible version it says Jesus was filled with compassion or pity... but in the new NIV it says He was indignant, which is a totally different thing. Indignant is not compassion, indignant tells us He was mad, annoyed, bothered, upset. But other versions stick with compassion and pity.

This has bugged me all day.

Thanks for the comment
