“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. ~Jesus
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is BY FAITH from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live BY FAITH.”
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
All you have to do is ASK. No pomp and circumstance is needed:
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Jesus also said we would know a tree by its fruit. It's Friday. Tell me something GOOD:
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. ~Jesus
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. ~Jesus
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Jesus saw their FAITH and their sins were forgiven. Seems pretty simple but people make this concept difficult:
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” Luke 5:20
Praise the LORD , all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD .
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” ~Jesus
Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” “Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) When Jesus said, “I am he,” THEY DREW BACK and FELL TO THE GROUND.
This verse struck me today:
JHN 16:2 NIV
They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.
(The Words of Christ)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~Jesus
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. ~Jesus
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. ~Jesus
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Jesus must have felt like a broken record at times. He had to repeat Himself a lot. Over and over again and they still didn't get it. I think it would have been more difficult to grasp back then. At least we have the Text today. It's really not that hard. That's why they call it Good News:
“Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” ~Jesus
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” ~Jesus
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” ~Jesus
I never noticed this verse before. I had to go back and read the section a couple of times. He knew what they were coming to do. He knew this wasn't the plan. He stood firm by withdrawing to a mountain alone:
Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. ~Jesus
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Sometimes it's better to keep quiet:
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” ~Jesus
For my Bible-Believing friends: what do you think Jesus meant when he said "To the point of DEATH" ???
“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” Mark 14:34
“Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.” ~Jesus
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” ~Jesus
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. ” ~Jesus
Jesus proves through His Words you can have forgiveness of sins through prayer.
He says when you stand praying forgive others and God will forgive you.
Well, you can confess your sins to God. He already knows what you're doing but acknowledging your sins in prayer before God is a step in the right direction.
It's between you and God. He will forgive your sins through prayer directly.
You don't need your priest to accomplish this. You don't need to be dunked in water to accomplish this. You don't need a sprinkling of "holy" water to accomplish this. You can come before the Lord in prayer and communicate with Him directly.
You can be yourself before the Lord and pray/communicate with him directly.
How do you know if you're holding something against someone?
When you go back to that point in time over and over again and rehash it by holding on. When you can't seem to let something or someone go.
Ask God directly through prayer to help you with that grudge and to show you a better way.
Again, you can do this directly through prayer.
“You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” ~Jesus
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” ~Jesus
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” ~Jesus
“Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” ~Jesus
LEAVE that PLACE and DON'T LOOK BACK. You're not going that way any more:
Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
