God doesn't want us to be stupid #Judging

People misconstrue the bible verse about judging others often. I like Karla Downing's simplified explanation. God doesn't want us to be stupid.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the same measure you use, it will be measured to you" (Matthew 7:1-2). This verse is often misunderstood to mean that you can't draw conclusions about someone's behavior and identify their problems. Of course you can and you have to! You have to know what someone is doing that hurts you and what is wrong in the relationship. You judge when you pronounce a sentence and condemn them--that isn't your job; it’s Gods. So identify the problems, use discernment, don't condemn, but take care of yourself. God doesn't want us to be stupid!
