Remain in Me and I in You

“Remain in Me and I in You”

Jesus is speaking to his disciples and explaining the importance of remaining connected to Him. He promises that if we remain in him and He in us, then we will “bear much fruit.” Practically, Jesus is promising that if we stay connected to him through Prayer and reading the Bible, then our spiritual lives and connection to Him will be vibrant and fruitful. On the other hand, if we do not remain in him through Prayer and reading the Bible then our spiritual lives and connection with him “withers” and dies.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:5‭-‬7
